During the 11th World Symposium on Choral Music in Barcelona, selected choirs will premier new compositions of 16 renowned composers, including Minnesota’s own Jocelyn Hagen. She shares with NewMusicMN, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to have been commissioned by the International Federation of Choral Music to compose a work for the World Choral Symposium in Barcelona, Spain, in July, 2017. I have been paired with the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Sweden, and am crafting a vocalise based on the act of uniting, and the power of connection through singing.”

Congratulations, Jocelyn!

The next IFCM WORLD SYMPOSIUM ON CHORAL MUSIC will be in the magnificent city of Barcelona from 22 to 29 July 2017. Under the theme “The Colors of Peace”, the IFCM World Symposium on Choral Music will bring together choirs from all over the world, choral musicians, composers and publishers to share and celebrate diversity and artistic excellence of our global choral community.
