Join Sandbox Theatre for an intimate aural and visual event celebrating NASA’s Voyager Golden Records. The Golden Record Project is part art installation, part performance, part interactive museum, with music by singer/songwriter Theo Langason and sound artist Morgan Schoonover. Through sight, sound, and story, it is a search for connection, a hopeful call to other worlds, and a declaration that we are here.
Theo Langason is a theatre artist and teaching artist based in Minneapolis. Theo is a graduate of Rutgers University, with a degree in Theatre Arts. He is a member of Sandbox Theatre and Blackout Improv. Theo has also worked with Ten Thousand Things, Park Square Theatre, Frank Theatre, and Pillsbury House Theater. Theo is a teaching artist for Guthrie Theater, Penumbra Theatre, and Upstream Arts.
Composer Morgan Schoonover is an experimental artist working with embroidery and sound. Through the combination of sound, visuals, and performance, her work uses audience participation to explore the indentity of both the embroiderer and the craft. After completing degrees in Music (clarinet) and Studio Art (ceramics) from Hartwick College, Morgan moved to London to complete the MMus in Leadership at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. It was here that she gained an interest in developing processes, social engagement, and participatory art.
