Nautilus Music-Theater Rough Cuts

July 9 @ 7:30 pm

A reading of a new music-theater piece by composer Becky Dale and librettist Michael John Garcés, inspired by the famous shrouded figure created by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the Adams Memorial in Washington DC. It poetically explores the intersection of loss and beauty; “out of darkness, onto a path of darkness.”

These performers feature Nautilus performers NORAH LONG, MEGAN KIM ANDERSON, POGI SUMANGIL, and MAX WOJTANOWICZ, with music direction by JILL DAWE and CHARLIE GANNON on saxophone. GRIEF is intended to be a companion piece to HOMEWARD (created by the same collaborative team) which was presented in last year’s ROUGH CUTS series.

Nautilus’ monthly series of ROUGH CUTS presentations feature uncompromising vocal and theatrical talent in an intimate and informal setting. The program provides an unusual opportunity to sample professional quality music-theater for only $5 or pay-as-able — plus, we serve free cookies and milk!
