MN Guitar Society Presents

December 7 @ 7:30 pm

$10 – $25

The Minnesota Guitar Society will present Slovenian-born, California-based, world-renowned classical guitarist Mak Grgić in concert. His program includes works from the Baroque era to the present by J. S. Bach, Fernando Sor, Dusan Bogdanović, and Miroslav Tadić, as well as (in an arrangement by Grgic himself) themes by legendary film-score composer Ennio Morricone

Biographical Note
Still in his early 30s, Mak Grgic has already established a reputation as a world-class artist through his passion and virtuosity in solo performances and recordings as well as various collaborations. He believes in an eclectic approach to classical guitar in order to draw a wider audience for the instrument. Balkanisms, an album released on Naxos in 2019, encompasses new and ethnic music from the Balkan peninsula. Other album releases combine music of the Renaissance and Baroque with new music influenced by Middle Eastern traditions, played on microtonal guitars, flamenco music with guitarist Adam del Monte, and music of the cinema.
