Join us in welcoming composer and percussionist Jason Treuting, the Christopher U. Light Lecturer in Music for the 2019-2020 season. First he’ll present his music practice in a lecture and conversation on May 7. Don’t miss him in concert on Friday, May 8. Then, join us on Saturday morning, May 9, for his composition masterclass with Carleton student composers. He’ll also join Assistant Professor of Music Andrea Mazzariello in concert on Saturday, May 9.

Composer and percussionist Jason Treuting, our 2019-2020 Christopher U. Light Lecturer in music, will present original work for chamber ensemble and for large, open-instrumentation large ensemble.
Christopher U. Light Masterclass on May 9, 11am in Kracum Performance Hall:
Jason Treuting, 2019-2020 Christopher U. Light Lecturer in Music, will meet with Carleton student composers in a composition masterclass. Free and open to the public.
Andrea Mazzariello Faculty Recital in Composition on May 9, 8pm in Kracum Performance Hall:
Christopher U. Light Lecturer in Music Jason Treuting and Visiting Artist Eric Cha-Beach will premiere 2 new compositions by Assistant Professor of Music Andrea Mazzariello: Mass, for drum set (composed for Jason Treuting), and a new electroacoustic work for multi percussion and electronics (composed for Eric Cha-Beach). Mazzariello and Treuting will also perform work from their new duo album, Make a wish then build a ladder, as well as new work.
All of these programs are free, unticketed, and open to the public.
