Come one, come all…  Enjoy original music and the “Rhythm in Rice” series, produced by Brian Horst Productions and co-produced by PipJazz Foundation and Pippi Ardennia.

Pippi Ardennia, President & Founder of PipJazz LIVE! Foundation PLUS…Singer/Songwriter, Producer, Educator, and Lowertown’s Jazz Diva has arranged  6 GREAT concerts in Rice Park (located between the Landmark Center, Ordway, St. Paul Hotel and St. Paul Public Library) and Danita Jackson, PipJazz Director of Youth Programs and Performances, has arranged the PipJazz All Stars Alumni performances as follows:

June 9th Opening the show will be PipJazz All Stars Alumni Charlie Lincoln and his band, “Hoaxer” who will feature some of their original jazz music. The headliner will be Babatunde Lea and his quartet “New Rituals of Unity” who will feature some great jazz music.

June 16th Opening the show will be PipJazz All Stars Alumni Levi Schwartzberg and his band, “Sound Skirmish” as they will feature some of their original jazz music. The headliner will be Kevin Washington and the “Kevin Washington Quintet” who will feature some great jazz music.

June 23rd Opening the show will be PipJazz All Stars Alumni, Jordan Anderson and his band, “Jordan Anderson Band” who will feature some of their original jazzy Motown style music. Ain’t No Mountain High Enough to keep Motown’s sounds from the Twin Cities Jazz Fest & Rhythm in Rice. The headliner will be Pippi Ardennia, founder of PipJazz Foundation/Live, singer/songwriter, educator and speaker, will return Motown to its jazz roots.   Lowertown’s First Lady of Jazz Diva along with her Women In Jazz Band, and featuring former PipJazz Allstars and their bands,  will be “Jazzin’ Up  Motown” classics in the jazz idiom that shaped Motown in the first place. Come hear some of the Twin Cities best players blow new energy through classics like “What’s Going On,” “Jimmy Mack,” “I Heard It Through The Grapevine,” “Shotgun,” and “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” just to name a few.The combination will expand your mind and move your feet, and leave everyone “Dancin’ in the Street!”

June 30th Opening the show will be PipJazz All Stars Alumni, Will Kjeer, and his band “Will Kjeer Trio” who will feature some of their original jazz music. The headliner will be Daniel Leahy and the Daniel Leahy Trio featuring some great jazz music.

July 7th Opening the show will be PipJazz All Stars Alumni, Cymphony Jaxon, and her band, “Ceramyx” who will feature some of their original jazzy blues music. The headliner will be Marilyn Parker and the “Selby Avenue Brass Band” who will feature some great jazzy blues music.

July 14th Opening the show will be PipJazz All Stars Alumni, Edmund Catlin, and his band, “Rite-Price Liquor Band” who will feature some of their original jazzy blues music. The headliner will be Mari Harris with “Baby, Don’t You Want To Go?” featuring some great blues music.

The mission of PipJazz Foundation is to bring world class music to the community in a family friendly environment where young people can be inspired to fully engage in the arts. PipJazz LIVE gives talented young artists the opportunity to gain a real life performance experience with world class musicians.
