Grand Symphonic Winds is a Twin Cities based civic wind ensemble with a reputation for excellence, well known for bringing original music to a diverse audience. It strives to expand and redefine the perception of what constitutes a concert band. GSW has made the conscious decision to challenge both its members and audience with a wide range of musical styles. During its 25 year history, it has championed new music, including dozens of unique compositions from across the globe that have rarely or never been performed in Minnesota previously.
Neoteric Chamber Winds was founded in 2011 to explore music written in the 20th and 21st centuries for uncommon combinations of wind instruments. Neoteric takes the forces of the woodwind quintet, brass quintet, piano and saxophone to create mixed ensembles of 4-14 players. Neoteric’s repertoire is rarely performed due to its unique size and instrumentation.
