Scott Keever is a solo acoustic guitarist who specializes in Celtic and American folks styles, while blending classical, jazz and world elements into his music. Scott is widely known for his collaborations on such projects as The Sweet Colleens, Orkestar Bez Ime (OBI), the Michael Matheny album, and Funks Grove, as well as his theater work, including Brave New Workshop, Plymouth Playhouse and Flying Foot Forum. Scott’s newest album “Solo Guitar Vol. 1” focuses on his original solo compositions and showcases his fingerpicking and his wide range of styles. Produced by Raymond Yates, it features Scott’s work in open tunings, and on both nylon and steel string guitars.
Adam Kiesling started playing bass as a freshman in high school, and would hit as many of the local bluegrass jams in southeastern Wisconsin as he could. After moving to Minneapolis in the early 90s, he started playing guitar and soon fell under the sway of musicians like Norman Blake, Mississippi John Hurt, Doc Watson, and the Reverend Gary Davis. In 2002 Adam joined the Twin Cities-based clogging group, The Wild Goose Chase Cloggers, as their guitar player, and really started playing old time string band music in earnest. Adam also spent a few years as the bass player for Pert Near Sandstone, and spends his time nowadays with Corpse Reviver, a trio that focuses on the music found on the Anthology of American Folk Music. His new CD, simply titled “BNJO & GTR,” was recorded at Dakota Dave Hull’s Arabica Studio in Minneapolis, and includes solo arrangements of some of Adam’s favorite old time tunes and songs, as played on the guitar and banjo.
